Mingardi Window Actuators, Trade Supplied Since 1991
Mingardi is an Italian manufacturer founded in 1968, making it one of the longest-established names in window and skylight automation. In January 2024, Mingardi merged with fellow Italian manufacturer Nekos (founded 2000) under the ownership of the French Somfy Group, and the combined business now trades as Nekos e Mingardi Automation from Colle Umberto, in the Treviso province. Mingardi remains the older and better-known of the two names, and continues to carry its own ISO 9001 certification. Vent-Trade has supplied Mingardi actuators since 1991.
The range covers four actuator types. Chain actuators include Kimo, K-Eco S3, Micro Kit, Micro 02, Kato (with a synchronised Syncro³ variant and a radio-controlled KatoADV), Micro Evo 1 and 2, and Inka 356. Linear and rod actuators include D8, Euro 1, Rock, and K-Dark for louvre windows. Rack actuators include Sky 450, Skyro 650 and Drive Evo 0/2, and the PA-KL2 and PA-KL2-DF are folding-arm actuators built specifically for smoke and heat venting. Force ratings run from around 200N to 1000N, with both 230V AC and 24V DC options across the range.
Mingardi actuators carry CE, UKCA and UL marking, and the fire-safety lines meet SHEV requirements and EN 12101-2. The Syncro³ feature lets up to eight actuators synchronise directly with each other, without a separate control unit, which simplifies wiring on wider windows and rooflights. Group-wide, the combined Nekos e Mingardi business now serves more than 80 countries.
Mingardi now trades as part of Nekos e Mingardi Automation, backed by the Somfy Group across more than 80 countries.
